Courses are instructor-led and follow a workshop format. UCLA online courses are asynchronous, which means that participants can log in at any time to participate. Assignments and discussions take place using email and the web. Textbooks, when required, can be ordered at 1-800-325-3252 or online at UCLA Bookstore The platform utilized for UCLA Extension online courses is Blackboard and below is the URL for an online course orientation/introduction. The technical requirements are a PC or Mac, Internet Explorer 4.0 (or higher), or Netscape Navigator 4.0 (or higher). Furthermore, course managers are available via phone, fax and email to guide all online students through the process.
