Hook Kick

  • Start Position:

    • Similar to Side Kick.
  • Description:

    • The hook kick is applied from a fighting stance using the leg closest to the target.
  • Technique:

    • From a fighting stance with right foot closest to target
    • Shift weight to left leg
    • Lean slightly left
    • Bring right knee close to body and extend towards target in a hooking motion
    • Strike with heel of foot
    • Follow through by using the hamstring to move leg through target
  • Targets:

    • Side of knee (back region of side knee)
    • Back of knee
    • Jawline
    • Temple area of head
    • Back, upper (acts as a push), lower (can cause pain)
    • Abdomen (if beside opponent)
